Storing Short Circuit and Arc Flash Results

You can store short circuit results or arc flash results in the database for the following bus types:

  • ATS
  • Switchgear
  • Switchboard
  • Panelboard
  • Panel
  • MCC

To store the results, do the following:

  1. Select the buses for which you want to store the results. If no buses are selected, then it stores results for all the applicable buses.
  2. On the Short Circuit tab, click Fault Bus(es) > Advanced, and then select Fault and Store Sym kA or Fault and Store Arc Flash.
  3. Note: These options are only available if your system is set to use ANSI short circuit calculations.

Depending on which selection was made, this calculates the symmetrical kA short circuit results or the arc flash results.

  4. When you return to the Database Edit focus, click Yes when asked to save your temporary changes. The results are now stored in the database.

The results appear in the Bus Data dialog on the Switchgear/Panelboard/Switchboard tab and in the database browser or database report. The results can also be included in schedules for switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, panels, and MCCs.
